The SKOCH India 2047 Centre of Excellence has been at the forefront of shaping India's discourse on responsible Artificial Intelligence. Recognising that AI is transforming economies and institutions faster than regulatory and governance frameworks can evolve, the Centre has, over several years, undertaken pioneering research on Corporate Digital Responsibility (CDR) - an approach that extends corporate responsibility into the digital age and places trust, accountability and public interest at the heart of technological innovation.

Building on this work, the Centre has developed comprehensive Data Responsibility and AI Responsibility Frameworks through years of research and extensive multi-stakeholder consultations involving industry, technology providers, user organisations, academia and government.

These frameworks recognise that the success of AI depends not only on advances in algorithms but equally on the responsible stewardship of data, transparency in decision-making, human oversight and measurable societal impact.

As AI rapidly moves from experimentation to enterprise-wide deployment and public service delivery, the challenge is no longer whether organisations will adopt AI, but how responsibly and effectively they will do so.
